This was the first sportbike I ever owned and it turned me from pure dirt rider into a street rider.
This was the only bike that I have ever crashed. A wild highside on the way down Mt Baker changed my outlook on crashing these kind of motorcycles.
Surviving the crash made me re-think my riding and the insanity this bike lured me into.
Yes the bike was a disaster, 2,500 in damage not to mention destroyed leathers, helmet, gloves and boots. The bike was insured and rebuilt with the custom Moslander pain job.
I racked up thousands of miles on this bike while working at the Lynnwood Cycle Barn. We pretty much rode year around, snow, rain, black ice, and summer sun. This bike probably made 100 trips over the N.Cascades highway alone. Great bike, great time, great era!
My brother bought one for me to ride around 1996 or so during bike week in Daytona and it felt like a couch. I could not imagine that we rode bikes like that the way we did in this era.
