This was the first 5 valver Yamaha brought to the USA and this bike was awesome.

For pure riding fun this is one of the best motorcycles I have owned.

It combined a killer motor (for it's time) that made insane power and it handled pretty good for the era. I made hundreds of trips throughout the Washington mountain ranges. I also made my first trip to Laguna Seca on this bike to see the King Kennys last race. After that ride I decided this bike was not for touring :(

A massively fun bike to ride!

During a ride up highway 9 on a cool fall weekend with ten or so of my riding pals a few of us got into a high speed corner side by side with me on the outside.Eventually I ran outof road and headed onto the dirt shoulder instanly into a flat track slide, across the grass narrowly missing a telephone post. It kind of freaked me out a bit and I sold the bike and quit riding for a while.
