I bought my FZR1000 from Clayton Walsh through an ad he had in the local Tradin Times and we have since ridden many thousands of miles together on a lot of differnet bikes.
This was my foray back into bikes after getting the bug again in Seattle with my 87 FZR. (I owned them both at the same time.)
I spent a fair amount of money completely restoring this bike and adding a bunch of updates. All of the photos are prior tothe work I did on the bike.
Over the winter of 1995 my friend from Pirelli/Metzeler Import/Export manager Darrin Cooper had mentioned he was looking for a lier sportbike and around the same time my brother had found a 1994 Yamaha YZF-750. The YZF is what I really wanted and despite all of the time I had into the FZR I gladly sold it to Darrin to get the YZF.
I never had a chance to ride this bike after it was fiinished and there is but one picture of the final product in the back of Darrins truck sitting in the rain. We were so busy at Daytona in 1996 (when this deal went down) working for the Pirelli/Metzeler team that we really had little time to ride other than back and forth to the track and the weather was so horrible that year that I think we only did that twice in a month down there.
The bike headed of to Pennsyvaina with Darrin and he ended up selling it a year later for a cruiser bike. Shortly there after he left Pirelli and headed back to Seattle. Go figure.
