I've spent many years in and around this state, ridden a good many of it's roads, wandered around mountain ranges and it is one of my favorite places to hang around.

Mind you that the weather does not compare to California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Florida, or the South. It can be downright dreary during the winter months. Spring, summer and fall however can be on par with the states listed above. On both sides of the state you'll find awesome mountains and forest. Right in the middle of the state you'll find the hell of the desert (Ellensburg, Yakima areas).

We have seriously considered moving to Washington. We have both interviewed for jobs out there. One thing you have to really weigh out about Washington are the cost of living and that the weather isn't vastly different from Michigan. I think Utah, Colorado or Oregon offer more bang for the buck. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy this state. Quite the opposite. I just think that compared to like locations that it is over priced, not to mention the insane traffic situation.

Now for the good side of the state. First off if you are a sportbike rider, any kind of motorcycle rider for that matter you'll find some kick ass riding areas. The North Cascades Hwy, Chuckanut Drive, Mt St. Helens, Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic Pennisula to name a few. If you own a sportbike this is mecca and my number one sportbike road in America can be found right next to Mt. St. Helens.!

The downtown Seattle area is simple awesome. Great places to eat and screw around. The Space Needle is a must on a clear day and while your ther check out The Pike Place Market.

Wander outside the city and check out some killer watefalls at Deception Falls or Snoqualmie Falls and the Salish Lodge & Spa. There are hundreds of falls to check out throughout the state.

Mt Rainier 14,410 feet is a few hours drive and if you are in good shape it's waiting for you to climb it. Also looming above the Cascade mountain range, Mt. Baker 10,778 feet and Mt Adams 12,276 feet. Highway 9 and Chuckanut drive are other nice drives.

In and around the Seattle area there are many excellent areas for hiking, camping and climbing you'll never run out of things to do.
