Awesome parents

Choose a link below to check out some of the places we have visited over the years.

Over the yearsKaroline and I have traveled quite a bit. Karoline throughout Europe, Africa, Australia and a few islands in the middle of nowhere. I have taken in a few cruises to a few islands and have extensively traveled throughout the USA and Canada.

What I find pretty cool is that whether you are at Gettysburg, or the Vietnam memorial, places that offer a beauty surrounded by sorrow and sadness, or Bryce, Mount St. Helens or Yellowstone which offer a view of the chaos and mayhem this earth has weathered, through thousands, millions of years, we are given the opportunity to reflect on the beauty the meyhem has left behind. Traveling and checking out new and remote places gives you a whole new perspective on the landscape we live within. Karoline and I go to some places where the history is rife and very apparent. We go to other places where you have to search for it. Throughout these journeys I can almost imagine what it took those before me who no doubt suffered through strife and struggle to discover these lands, to survive them, and to build families, and communities. It is like reading a book in real time.

You get the chance to see where we have all taken this country, this world, this planet and whether we use the land to grow and survive, we ultimately destroy it.

In one way or another we leave our foot prints and I struggle with the good and the evil of it all. We survive by using the land and yet we may not survive because we have. And the question remains as to whether or not we will survive our self destructive ways, will we take ourselfs out or will the planet do that for us.

I'm not a tree hugger by any means, but these beautiful places really matter in the grand scheme of things. Because today there is little left to discover and they leave a door to the past for everyone to learn more about the beauty that surrounds us, no matter where you live. These are an example of the raw power of the enviroment that has made Earth.

Karoline and I want to see as much of the world as we can because there is no question that this will be the only chance we will get to take it all in and enjoy what creation (whatever that may be) has assembled before us and continues to build as time passes by.

So here are a few of the trips we have taken, a photo essay on each with a little text to sum up the trip. We hope you enjoy the photography and if you are interested in any of our work, email me and we can give you a quote for high resolution prints. I have also added some links to some of the trips we are planning to take in the future.
