X Plex - Las Vegas

Karoline and I ventured out with a handful of our midwest Trackoholics riders for the Ti2TT weekend Trackday and to spend a few days around Vegas, visit Hoover Dam and to take in a few hours of karting at the X-Plex thanks to my former boss Jim Boltz and owner of the Cycle Barn, SSC Racing and X Plex Seattle and Las Vegas.

Overthe past few years I had been running a lot of indoor karting events on my own and as a winter series for Trackoholics and with my job and the trackday company it was tough to find the time to take Jim up on his offer to run a free day at his track.

Now I had the chance and it really opened my eyes as to just how much outdoor karting has changed over the past 10 years.

These new karts are unbelievable! Awe inspiringly fast, piles of grip with state of the art slicks developed by Bridgestone mate to incredible braking power.

Needless tosay I am hooked. I'll be exploring karting much further in the future and will absolutely be racing them in the next two years.

These things rock and they are cheap compared to sportbike trackday riding/racing!

Thank you to Jim Boltz and Joe Ramos for making this possible. You guys are the best.
