I kind of stumbled upon my drive through Wyoming sometime around 1983 on my way to Seattle. My friend Mark was with me and we had stopped at Mt Rushmore for a few days on the way out and wereon our way to Yellowstone for another few day stay. I decided that we should try going through Wyoming just to scope it out (something I like to do, just check these kind of place out).

I have to say that back then it was a pretty desolate place, lot's of cool mountain scapes, mesas and rock.

The weather was interesting for the end of July (at least to us) as we encountered snow for quite a while on our way in to Cody. The roads were so so.There was no real way to get anywhere fast on our route and there was a lot of open range (something we had never heard of). Means that Cows and other range stock wander around on the roads without warning.

Cody was another interesting place as it looked just about as we expected. Very western cowboy and indian.

It was kind of cool to check out a place that was semi locked in time compared to where we grew up and I hope one day to make a trip back out just to check out the beauty of this state.
